India has firmly established itself as a leading hub for Global Capability Centers (GCCs), hosting over 50% of the world’s GCCs and emerging as a preferred destination for offshore business and innovation centers. With more than 1,500 centers across diverse industries, India has become a global powerhouse in the GCC ecosystem. This remarkable growth highlights its pivotal role in driving global business strategies and fostering innovation.

GCCs in India have evolved into significant value drivers, leveraging digital technologies such as AI and automation, focusing on high-value activities like R&D, and adopting hybrid work models. However, the sector faces persistent challenges, including talent retention, regulatory complexities, and skill gaps in emerging technologies. Addressing these issues is critical for sustaining growth and ensuring India’s continued leadership in the global GCC ecosystem.

An upcoming session, in partnership with ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), will explore India’s position as a GCC hub and the unique opportunities it presents. Discussions will focus on factors driving India’s GCC success, growth sectors, and strategies for enhancing global competitiveness.

Insights from this session will contribute to ACCA’s India-specific thought leadership on GCCs, set to launch in July 2025.
